Banana Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening or 1 stick margarine
    3 ripe bananas
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 c. chopped dates
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Beat egg, sugar, butter, bananas and vanilla until smooth. Sift flour and baking soda together.
    Blend into banana mixture. Stir in nuts and dates.
    Pour into greased and floured 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
