Ozark Pumpkin Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 2/3 c. sifted flour
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. soda
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/3 c. shortening
    1 1/3 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2 eggs
    1 c. mashed, canned or cooked pumpkin
    1/3 c. sherry
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.
    Cream together shortening, sugar and vanilla.
    Add eggs, 1 at a time, and beat well after each.
    Stir in pumpkin.
    Add dry ingredients alternately with sherry and blend well.
    Stir in nuts. Turn into well-greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour or until a cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Turn out on a wire rack to cool.
    Wrap and refrigerate until ready to slice.
    Makes 1 loaf.
