Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 c. dairy sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sugar
3 egg yolks, beaten
3 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
Preparation

Cream the shortening and sugar thoroughly.
Add sour cream, egg yolk and vanilla.
Sift together dry ingredients.
Add to cream, blending well.
Chill and shape into balls, working with small portions at a time, keeping remaining dough chilled.
Roll out 1/8-inch thick on lightly floured surface.
Cut with floured 2 1/2-inch cutter.
Sprinkle cut out with sugar.
Bake on greased baking sheet in moderate oven at 375\u00b0 about 15 minutes.
Makes 6 dozen.
