Irish Soda Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. all-purpose flour
    1 c. quick or old fashioned oats (uncooked)
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. caraway seed
    2 tsp. salt
    3/4 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 1/4 c. buttermilk
    1/2 c. raisins
    1 Tbsp. butter or oleo, melted
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients except buttermilk, raisins and butter. Gradually stir in buttermilk and raisins; mix until dry ingredients are moistened.
    Knead until smooth, about 1 minute. Shape into a ball.
    Place on well-greased cookie sheet; flatten to form 7-inch circle.
    Cut cross in top 1/4-inch deep.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
    Brush with 1 tablespoon butter.
    Cool on wire rack.
    Makes 1 loaf.
