Banana Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
2/3 c. mashed ripe banana
2 c. all-purpose flour, divided
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
3/4 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Cream shortening; gradually add sugar, beating well.
Add egg; beat well.
Add banana and mix until smooth.
Combine 1 3/4 cups flour, baking powder, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Stir in vanilla.
Dredge pecans in remaining flour; stir into batter.
Pour batter into a greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely on wire rack.
