Soft Molasses Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1 c. molasses
1 c. melted Crisco
4 tsp. baking soda
2/3 c. hot water
2 tsp. vanilla
5 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. salt

Preparation

Mix together sugar, mola`sses and Crisco.
Add egg.
Dissolve soda in hot water.
Add to sugar mixture.
Add vanilla.
Mix in flour, cream of tartar, ginger, cloves, cinnamon and salt.
Chill and roll out.
Makes good gingerbread men!
