Ingredients

1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup confectioners sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
Preparation

In large bowl beat butter, sugars and salt until well blended. Add egg and vanilla and beat until fluffy.
Sift together flour, baking soda and cream of tartar.
Add to creamed mixture and blend well.
Chill for at least 2 hours.
Shape into small balls about 3/4 inch size and place on ungreased baking sheet 2 inches apart.
