Mom'S Date Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. pitted dates, cut into fourths
    2 c. boiling water
    2 tsp. baking soda
    2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    3 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. nuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over dates and baking soda.
    Add rest of ingredients.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 60 to 70 minutes in a greased loaf pan.
