Melt soap in 4 cups of water
Take your bar of soap (we use Dove or store brand like it, because it's more moisturizing), and grate it with a cheese grater.
Pour the water and grated soap into a microwaveable container and cook on high for 3 min.
Remove and stir until all soap bits have melted (put in a bit longer, if needed).
Let it cool, then pour into pumps (leftover from store bought liquid soap), and the remainder in any container with a lid.

Spray directly onto stains, ensuring complete coverage of the stains, and let the pre-treater absorb into the fabric.
You can throw the clothes directly into the wash after applying the pre-treater (wait 5 minutes before putting clothes in the wash to ensure absorption), or you can leave them until the next time you do laundry. It works well either way.

Palmolive Bag.
Use the green liquid dish soap - Palmolive.
Don't dilute, just put into your zip lock bag, double bag and freeze, maybe reused several times. Makes a nice bag that molds to the affected area.

Use rubbing alcohol.
1 part alcohol and 2 parts water. Freeze and use. (this is my favorite).

Dissolve soaps and detergent
Mix pulverized laundry starch with cold water.
Pour in boiling water and stir quickly.
Cook the mixture over low heat about 3 minutes until the surface becomes glossy.
Remove from heat and add soap flakes and glycerin as a preservative.
Place the mixture in small jars and color with a few drops of different vegetable dyes.
Soften gelatin in 1/4 cup cold water.

Combine laundry starch with 3/4 cup cold water in medium saucepan.
Add hot water and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon until mixture comes to a full boil and has become completely thickened.
Remove from heat and stir in softened gelatin.
Add soap and stir until completely dissolved.
Add color or paint to all or part of mixture.
Store in covered containers.
Makes about 3 cups.
Place grated soap in a pot.
Cover with water and simmer over medium heat until all soap is melted, stirring occasionally.
Pour into 5 gallon bucket.
Add washing soda and borax.
Add enough hot water to fill the bucket.
Stir (I use a long measuring stick, but any long stick will work).
Let sit overnight to gel.
Use 1 cup per load.
(You can pour this into old detergent containers or leave in the bucket. Please cover with a lid if leaving in the bucket to protect children and pets.).
Dilute laundry starch in cupful of cold water.
Add remaining water.
Slowly stir to avoid lumps.
Stir in soap flakes and talcum (as a binder).
Add color with tempura paint.
Makes 5 pints.
Works as fingerpaint; over wax crayon; on glass.
Mix the powders with enough liquid soap to make a thick, creamy paste.
Use as you would any cream cleanser (SoftScrub).
