Silly Putty is a silicone polymer, originally made in 1941 in an unsuccessful attempt to manufacture a silicone based synthetic rubber.
This recipe makes a Silly Putty type material from Elmer's Glue and 20 Mule Team Borax.
Mix starch with glue until it turns into a solid mass.
Silly putty should break apart when pulled.
Mix well.
Putty must dry a bit before it is workable.
It may be necessary to add a bit more glue or starch; you will have to experiment.
Beware of contact with clothes and carpet.
If you use Elmer's school glue instead of regular white glue, the putty will not bounce or pick up pictures.
Store in an airtight container.

Combine the ingredients in a small bowl.
Try 1/4 cup of glue and 1/8 cup of starch; mix together.
Allow to dry for 30 minutes to 1 hour before it will be workable.

In the palm of one hand, sprinkle a small amount of powdered hand soap.
Add a few drops of water to dissolve soap.
Stir with a finger to make a thin paste.
Add a few drops of white glue directly onto soap paste and mix thoroughly.
Paste will soon change properties to those of plastic putty.
Mix together. If putty is too sticky, add more starch until the texture is workable.
Put glue in a plastic container.
Gradually add starch while stirring constantly.
If it is too sticky, add starch in small amounts until it feels like putty.
Store in a plastic bag or airtight container.
Mix the glue and starch in a cup.
Stir well.
The mixture will begin to look like dough or \"a brain\".
(You may need to add more starch.)
As the mixture forms a ball, pour off any excess starch.
Knead this glob in your hands until your hands become \"dry\".
You can store your finished putty in a plastic container.

TO MAKE BASIC PORK SAUSAGE RECIPE: Place ground pork into a large bowl. Measure and distribute ingredient items evenly over pork. Wearing kitchen gloves, combine mixture using hands until thoroughly blended. Brown pork sausage in skillet, or cook according to recipe directions.
TO MAKE VARIATION SAUSAGE RECIPE: Add specified additional ingredients before mixing. Brown in skillet, or cook according to recipe directions.
Use your favorite white cake recipe or use 1 white cake mix and bake according to instructions in 9 x 13-inch cake pan.
Let cool 10 to 15 minutes.

Bring sugar, evaporated milk, cocoa and margarine to a boil in a saucepan.
Boil for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes.
Do not stir.
Remove from heat.
Add peanut butter, vanilla and oats.
Drop by small spoonfuls onto a greased pan or waxed paper.

Cook over medium heat for 40 minutes; add milk and butter and cook another 30 minutes.
