Work flour, shortening and salt until very fine.
Beat egg, water and vinegar together.
Make a little well in the mixture, add liquid and blend.
This recipe makes four one-crust pies.
This goes with the Vinegar Pie Recipe too and this is the crust recipe that my greatgrandmother used to make hers with.
And its really swell too.
Cream the butter and sugar.
Add dry ingredients, egg, vinegar and water.
Cook in top of double boiler until thickened, stirring constantly.
Line pie with pastry and bake in moderate oven 3 minutes.
Pour filling in crust and bake until brown at 350\u00b0. Makes one 8-inch pie.
Mix ingredients in a large bucket.
A more dilute solution can be made by halving the amount of ingredients.
Mix thoroughly. Store this cleaner in a clean bottle and use as needed.
Stir together the first 3 ingredients into a large (gallon-plus sized) container.
Add water; enough to equal one gallon.
Follow steam-cleaner manufacturer's directions for operating instructions.
Pour into a quart jar and stir.
Pour into a spray bottle and use as a window cleaner.
Cleans greasy scum around stove.
It's also great on dirty woodwork.
Cover mop with a small towel.
Use rubber bands to secure towel onto mop.
Spray all purpose cleaner onto floor and mop.
Pour the ammonia, alcohol and detergent into a one-gallon jug. Fill jug with water.
Alfalfa:
Make like a tea.
Use 1 teaspoon to 8 ounces of water.
This is good for allergies, blood purifier, arthritis, cancer, diabetes, fatigue and kidney cleaner.
Mix ammonia, Dawn and alcohol together and pour into gallon container and finish filling with water.
Stir soda into flour; add ammonia and water.
Beat until smooth, then steam
in
double
boiler 1 1/2 hours.
Leave dough covered.
When cool enough to handle, knead it until smooth and soft.
Heat the oven to 200.C then turn it off.
Place a small bowl of ammonia on the centre shelf and the bowl of boiling water on the bottom.
Close the door and leave overnight, then wipe out with warm soapy water.
Dissolve the borax and ammonia in a big bucketful of water.
Scrub a really dirty wall from the bottom up.
If you scrub from the top down, the dirty water will run down over the dry, soiled wall leaving hard-to-remove streaks.
Stir together the first 2 ingredients into a large (gallon-plus) container.
Add hot water; enough to measure one gallon.
Follow steam-cleaner manufacturer's directions for operating instructions.
Mix the vinegar and borax in a 16oz spray bottle.
Fill bottle with the water and shake to dissolve the vinegar and borax.
Add soap LAST and then scent with essential oil.
Use as you would any all-purpose cleaner. This mix can get quite soapy so you might want to have a cloth wet with just water handy to \"rinse\" with.
Mix baking soda and washing soda.
Apply to surface and scrub.
Add white vinegar (Mixture will bubble up and deodorise.).
Pour all ingredients into a spray bottle and shake. Spray onto window and wipe clean with newspaper or a 100 percent cotton cloth.
Helpful Hint: The liquid soap included in this recipe helps remove any streak-causing wax left on the window from commercial cleaners used in the past. You can eliminate the soap after a few washings.
Safety note: Always be careful to label containers of homemade cleaners intended for storage and keep them well out of the reach of children.
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend well.
Note: if not used very often, it may create a film on top. Shake well and pour in the bowl, like a cling toilet bowl cleaner.
Scrub with a brush or a scouring pad and let sit for 10 minutes. Flush.

Pour Borax, Vinegar & soap into a bucket. Add water & essential oil (optional). Clean your floor.
Washing Soda can be used instead of borax (might streak on certain types of flooring).
Essential oil is optional for a nicer scent, but is not necessary as you won't smell it once the floor dries.
Once the floor dries, you will NOT smell the vinegar.
Home soap, Dr. Bronner's or any other natural liquid soap can be used.
