Fill crushed amaretti cookies into a wide decorative glass
Preheat broiler to hot. Line a baking sheet with foil and place apricots and nectarines on it, cut-side up. Sprinkle with sugar. Broil until softened and browned.
Arrange fruit on serving plates and drizzle with any pan juices. Spoon over mascarpone and sprinkle with amaretti cookies.

Macerate strawberries in vinegar and sugar for at least half an hour, stirring from time to time.
Prepare Mascarpone Cream:
Beat egg yolks with sugar until ribboning and very pale yellow.
Fold in Amaretto and then Mascarpone cheese.
Add almond pieces, gently.
Whisk whipping cream into soft peaks and fold into the Mascarpone mixture.
Serve in martini glasses or use a trifle dish.
Layer by placing the cookies first, then the cream and then top with strawberries.
Mix the lemon juice, most of the zest and the limoncello together.
Pour the cream into a large bowl and softly whip with the sugar.
