Really Unbelievably Delicious Fish - cooking recipe
Ingredients
-
1 lb white fish filet (flounder, roughy, any white flat fish will do)
4-5 baking or large red potatoes
1 onion
A little flour for dusting the fish
8 oz whipping cream
1/2 cup ketchup
4 tablespoons hot sauce or Tabasco.
1-2 teaspoon salt
dry dill weed to taste
Preparation
-
Butter a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Peel and slice potatoes to cover the bottom of the dish. Add the salt. Dust the fish in a little flour. Put the fish filets on top of the potatoes. Cut the onion into thin rings and put them on top of the fish. Shake the dill weed on top of the onion and fish (you can use parsley if you don't like dill). Cover the dish with tin foil and bake at 400F for 20 mins. While the fish is baking, whip the cream until stiff peaks form. Stop beating and add the ketchup and hot/chile sauce. The cream should be pink and have a little bit of a bite. Take the fish out of the oven, spread the cream on top and let it bake uncovered for another 20 mins or until potatoes are soft.
The cream will melt and cook with the potatoes, fish and onions and becomes a heavenly sauce. Nobody will ever dream you made it out of whipped cream and ketchup.
