Chocolate Loaf Cake With Buttercream Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    40 g cocoa powder, plus extra for sprinkling
    275 g butter, softened
    175 g caster sugar
    200 g self-raising flour
    3/4 tsp baking powder
    3 None eggs
    200 g icing sugar, sifted
Preparation
    Preheat the oven to 350\u00b0F. Grease a 2 lb loaf pan and line with parchment. Place the cocoa powder in a bowl and add 3 tbsp boiling water. Mix into a thick, smooth paste, adding a little more water if necessary. Allow to cool slightly.
    Place 13 tbsp butter in a mixing bowl and add the sugar, flour, baking powder, eggs and cocoa paste. Mix with a mixer for 2-3 mins, until the mixture is soft and creamy. Spoon into thepan and smooth out the top.
    Bake for about 35 mins, until well risen, springy to the touch, and slightly shrinking from the side of the pan. Allow to cool for 5 mins in the pan, then remove, and cool completely on a wire rack.
    Beat the powdered sugar and 6 tbsp butter until soft and creamy. Beat in 2 tsp boiling water, until the mixture is soft, light and spreadable. Spread the buttercream over the cake. Dust with cocoa powder.
