Eton Mess - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb ripe strawberries, hulled and halved or quartered
    2 tbsp sugar
    2 1/2 cups cream
    8 None ready-made meringue cookies
Preparation
    Place strawberries in a bowl, sprinkle over 1 tbsp sugar and toss well. Stand for 20 mins, tossing from time to time.
    Roughly chop one-quarter of the strawberries and set aside separately to the remaining strawberries.
    Whip the cream and 1 tbsp sugar until forming stiff peaks. Reserve 1 meringue nest for decoration and crumble the remaining meringues into the cream. Add the chopped strawberries and fold in.
    Lightly fold in the remaining halved or quartered strawberries, reserving a few for decoration.
    Arrange mixture in bowls. Scatter with remaining strawberries and crumble over remaining meringue.
