Hazelnut And Apple Friands - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 cup powdered sugar, sifted
    2 cups ground hazelnuts
    1/2 cup all purpose flour, sifted
    13 tbsp butter, melted
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    1 None green apple, peeled, cored, chopped
    6 large egg whites
    1/2 cup roasted hazelnuts, skin removed, chopped
    None None powdered sugar, for dusting
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0F. Lightly grease a 12-hole friand pan.
    In a bowl, combine powdered sugar, ground hazelnuts and flour. Mix in butter and vanilla, stirring gently until just combined. Fold apple into the batter.
    In a clean bowl, lightly whisk egg-whites until frothy. Fold in the hazelnut batter.
    Divide batter evenly between friand pans. Sprinkle with chopped hazelnuts. Bake 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through when tested with a toothpick.
    Cool 5 minutes in pan, then turn onto a wire rack to cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar, to serve.
