Porterhouse Steak With Caramelized Shallots - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 tbsp butter
    1 lb shallots, peeled
    1/2 cup red wine vinegar
    1/4 cup packed brown sugar
    2 tsp lemon thyme leaves
    4 None porterhouse steaks (7 oz each)
    None None Mashed potato and steamed green beans, to serve
Preparation
    Melt butter in large skillet on medium heat. Cook shallots for 5 mins, until golden. Add vinegar, sugar, thyme and 1/2 cup water. Cook for 15-20 mins, until soft.
    Heat a grill pan on high heat. Cook steaks for 3 mins each side for medium-rare or to desired doneness. Let stand 5 mins. Serve with shallots, mashed potato and steamed green beans.
