Chili Steak Tacos - cooking recipe
Ingredients
-
1/4 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
Pinch None garlic powder
1 1/4 lbs sirloin steak
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 None cucumber, peeled, halved lengthwise and thinly sliced
1/2 None red onion, diced
1 None avocado, peeled, pitted and cubed
1/2 bunch fresh cilantro, chopped
3 None limes, 1 squeezed, 2 cut into wedges
8 None soft corn tortillas
1/2 head red cabbage, thinly sliced
Preparation
-
Mix the chili powder, cinnamon, garlic powder and a pinch of salt. Rub the mixture over both sides of the steak. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the steak and cook for 5 mins per side. Transfer the steak to a cutting board, cover loosely with foil and let stand for 10-15 mins.
Meanwhile, mix together the cucumber, onion, avocado, cilantro and lime juice in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Heat another large skillet and warm the tortillas, one at a time, for 30 seconds per side. Remove to a plate; cover with foil. Cut the steak across the grain into thin slices. Fill each tortilla with some red cabbage, steak slices and avocado salsa. Serve with the remaining salsa and garnish with lime wedges.
