Orange And Poppy Seed Bundt Cake - cooking recipe

9 tbsp butter, chopped, at room temperature
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 None large eggs
2 1/2 cups self-raising flour, sifted
1/3 cup milk
1/3 cup orange juice
2 tbsp poppy seeds
1 None orange, grated zest
None None whipped cream, to serve

3/4 cup orange juice
2/3 cup sugar
1 None orange, zest cut into strips with a zester

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0F. Lightly grease an 8 inch bundt cake pan. Beat butter, sugar and vanilla together in a large bowl using an electric mixer, until creamy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating mixture well after each addition, scraping down sides of bowl.
Lightly fold flour into creamed mixture alternately with combined milk and orange juice, beginning and ending with flour. Mix in poppy seeds and zest.
Spoon mixture into prepared pan, smoothing top. Bake for 40-45 mins, or until a skewer comes out clean.
Meanwhile, make syrup by combining orange juice and sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring. Simmer, without stirring, for 5 mins. Add orange strips, cook for 5 mins, then remove from heat.
Cool in the pan for 5 mins. Transfer to a wire rack over a baking tray. Pierce cake in several places. Spoon over syrup. Allow to soak in. Serve with whipped cream.
