Easiest Whole Wheat Shortbread Cookies - cooking recipe

7 tbsp butter, chopped
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup flour
1/3 cup granulated sugar, plus additional, to sprinkle
Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350\u00b0F. Lightly grease and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
Combine all ingredients in a food processor. Pulse until the mixture clumps together.
Turn mixture out onto a lightly floured surface. Press together, then roll out until about 1/4 inch thick. Using a 1 1/2-inch star cutter, cut shapes from dough.
Place on prepared pan. Gather leftover dough into a ball. Repeat rolling and cutting. (Refrigerate for 10 mins if dough gets too soft). Sprinkle with additional sugar.
Bake 8-10 mins, until golden brown and firm to touch. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
