Five Spice Honey Chicken - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 cup self-rising flour
    1 tbsp Chinese five spice
    1 tsp ground black pepper
    1/4 cup club soda, chilled
    1 None egg, lightly beaten
    None None Oil, for deep frying
    1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, sliced
    1/4 cup cornstarch
    1/2 cup honey
    2 tbsp peanut oil
Preparation
    Mix self-rising flour, spice and pepper in a large bowl. Whisk in club soda and egg until smooth.
    Heat oil in a wok on medium-high heat until a drop of batter sizzles as soon as it is added.
    Meanwhile, dust chicken pieces in cornstarch, shaking off excess. Working in 2 batches, dip chicken in batter, wipe excess off and gently lower into hot oil. Deep-fry, turning with a slotted spoon, for 2-3 mins, until crisp and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
    Place honey and peanut oil in a small saucepan on medium heat. Cook and stir for 1 min, until runny. Pour over hot chicken, tossing to coat well.
