3/4 cup flour
3/4 cup ground almonds
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp ground ginger

5 tbsp butter
1 cup red wine
1 cup apple juice
3 tbsp Calvados
4 tbsp granulated sugar
1 None lemon, juiced
1 stick cinnamon
1 1/3 lbs apples such as Braeburns, peeled, cored and chopped
1 cup blackberries (fresh or frozen)
None None Powdered sugar, to dust
None None Vanilla ice cream, to serve
Preparation
-
Preheat the oven to 325\u00b0F. For the crumble topping, rub the flour, almonds, brown sugar, spices and butter together to form crumbs.
For the fruit filling, bring wine, apple juice, Calvados, granulated sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon to a boil in a large saucepan. Add apples; cover and return to a boil. Reduce heat to low; simmer for 5 mins. Uncover and simmer for 5 more mins to reduce the liquid. Remove from the heat and add the berries. Remove the cinnamon stick. Spoon the fruit into 6 small baking dishes (or 1 large dish) and top with crumble.
Bake for 30-40 mins, or until the crumble is golden.
Dust with powdered sugar. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
