Curly Fettuccine With Smoked Salmon - cooking recipe

1 lb curly fettuccine pasta
1 1/4 cups creme fraiche
1/4 cup dry white wine
1 tbsp baby capers, rinsed and drained
2 tsp finely grated lemon peel
1/3 cup lemon juice
7 oz hot smoked salmon, flaked
1/4 cup shredded fresh basil leaves
Preparation

Cook pasta in a large saucepan of boiling salted water according to package directions. Drain, reserving 1 1/2 cups of the cooking liquid. Return pasta to pan.
Meanwhile, combine creme fraiche, wine, capers and lemon peel in a small bowl.
Add creme fraiche mixture to pasta with lemon juice and reserved cooking liquid. Stir on medium heat until combined. Add salmon and basil; cook, stirring, until heated through. Season to taste.
