Date Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 tbsp (1 1/2 sticks) butter, chopped
    1 cup milk
    2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
    1 cup coarsely chopped pitted dried dates or prunes
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
    1/2 cup flour
    2 None eggs, lightly beaten
Preparation
    Preheat the oven to 350\u00b0F. Generously grease an 8-inch Bundt pan.
    Combine the butter, milk, sugar and dates in a large saucepan. Using a wooden spoon, stir on medium heat until the butter melts. Bring to a boil. Remove from the heat and stir in the baking soda. Let stand for 10 mins.
    Stir in the flours and egg. Spoon the mixture into the prepared pan.
    Bake for about 40 mins. Cool in pan 5 mins. Remove from pan; cool completely on wire rack.
