Strawberry And Walnut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cup butter, chopped, at room temperature
    2/3 cup granulated sugar
    4 None eggs
    1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
    3/4 cup self-rising flour, sifted
    1/2 cup ground almonds
    1/2 cup milk
    9 oz strawberries, hulled, chopped
    1 cup walnuts, chopped
    None None FOR THE FILLING
    1/4 cup strawberry jam
    9 oz strawberries, hulled, sliced
    1 1/4 cups heavy cream, whipped
    1/4 cup walnuts, finely chopped
    None None powdered sugar, for dusting
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 325\u00b0F. Lightly grease and line a 9 1/2 inch round cake pan with parchment paper.
    Cream butter and sugar until pale and creamy. Beat in eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Fold in flour, almonds and milk until just combined then gently stir in strawberries and walnuts. Transfer to prepared pan and bake for 1 hour 45 mins-2 hours, or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 10 mins then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
    Using a large, serrated knife, cut cake in half horizontally. Spread jam over bottom 1/2 of cake then arrange 1/2 of the strawberries and 1/2 of the whipped cream over top. Top with remaining cake 1/2 and spread remaining whipped cream over top. Sprinkle with remaining strawberries and walnuts. Dust with powdered sugar.
