Prosciutto, Pea And Pasta Gratin - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    13 oz cavatappi or other short pasta
    1 tsp cornstarch
    1 1/4 cups light cream
    1 tbsp butter
    8 slices prosciutto, coarsely chopped
    3/4 cup frozen peas, thawed
    1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Preparation
    Cook pasta in a large saucepan of boiling, salted water according to package directions; drain. Return to pan.
    Preheat the broiler to high. Blend cornstarch and a little of the cream until smooth; stir in remaining cream.
    Melt butter in a large skillet on medium heat. Cook prosciutto, stirring, for 3 mins, or until lightly browned. Add cream mixture, peas and half the Parmesan cheese; cook, stirring, until sauce boils and thickens slightly. Pour sauce over hot pasta; toss to combine. Season to taste.
    Spoon pasta mixture into an oiled 2-quart baking dish; sprinkle with remaining Parmesan cheese. Broil for 8 mins, or until top is lightly browned.
