Candy Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cup butter, at room temperature
    1/2 cup sugar
    2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
    3.5 oz small hard candies
Preparation
    Beat butter and sugar in a medium bowl until light and creamy.
    Transfer mixture to a large bowl; stir in flour. Knead dough on a lightly floured surface 30 seconds, or until smooth.
    Divide dough into 2 portions. Shape each portion into a disc. Wrap in plastic wrap; chill 30 mins.
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0F. Grease and line 2 large baking sheets with parchment paper.
    Roll each dough portion between sheets of parchment paper until 1/4 inch thick. Using a 3 inch round cookie cutter, cut 12 cookies from dough. Place cookies on prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart. Sprinkle hard candies over cookies.
    Bake 10-12 mins, or until lightly golden. Allow to cool on baking sheets.
