Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 medium eggs, separated
    300 g caster sugar
    175 g butter, melted
    150 g plain flour
    40 g cornflour
    50 g cocoa powder
    1 1/2 tsp baking powder
    200 g double cream
    2 tbsp brandy
    200 g dark chocolate, broken into pieces
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0F. Line a 10 inch springform pan. Whisk together the egg yolks, 3 tbsp cold water and the sugar until creamy. Gently fold in the melted butter then the flour, cornstarch, cocoa powder and baking powder. Whip the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff then carefully fold into the batter. Transfer to the prepared pan and bake for 30-40 mins then allow to cool for 15-20 mins in the pan before removing and cooling completely on a wire rack.
    To decorate, bring the cream to a boil, remove from the heat and stir in the brandy and chocolate until completely melted. Allow to cool for 5 mins before transferring the cake to a serving plate and covering with chocolate cream. Leave to set in a cool place for 2 hours before cutting into 20 pieces and serving.
