Italian Plum Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cup milk
    1 1/2 tbsp fresh yeast, crumbled or 2 1/2 tbsp active dry yeast
    3 cups all-purpose flour + 2 tbsp
    1/3 cup granulated sugar
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    3 None eggs
    8 tbsp butter, 5 1/2 tbsp melted
    2 2/3 lb Italian plums, halved and pitted
    1/2 lb marzipan, coarsely grated
Preparation
    Warm the milk then add the yeast and dissolve. Set aside until bubbly. In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, vanilla extract and 1 pinch salt. Add 1 egg, the melted butter and the milk and yeast mixture. Knead until smooth. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 30 mins.
    Preheat the oven to 400\u00b0F. Line a 15 inch square cake pan with parchment paper. Knead the dough again on a floured work surface and roll it out to fit the tray. Put the dough in the tray. Mix the marzipan with remaining eggs and butter and spread over the dough. Arrange the plums in the marzipan and let rise in a warm place for another 30 mins.
    Bake the cake on the middle shelf for about 25 mins. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with sugar. Let cool before serving.
