Westphalian Chicken Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 None onions, peeled and finely diced
300 g smoked bacon, sliced
400 g green beans, halved
300 g potatoes, peeled and cut into cubes
300 g carrots, peeled and cut into cubes
2 None small apples, peeled, cored and cubed
2 None small pears, peeled, cored and cut wedges
2 stalks savory
1/2 bunch oregano
1 can (425ml) white beans, drained
1 litre vegetable stock
1 pinch sugar
2-3 tbsp cider vinegar
Preparation

Simmer the bacon and onion in 2 cups water for about 1 hour. Add the green and white beans, herbs, potatoes, carrots, apples and pears to the bacon and onions, pour in the stock and simmer for about 30 mins. Add the sugar and vinegar and season and serve garnished with oregano.
