Lemon And Vanilla Cake - cooking recipe

125 g butter, softened
100 g cream cheese
1/2 None vanilla pod, seeds scraped out
200 g caster sugar
3 None eggs
200 g plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 None lemon, grated zest
150 g icing sugar
2-3 tbsp semi-skimmed milk
Preparation

Preheat the oven to 325\u00b0F. Grease an 8 inch diameter springform pan. Beat the butter, cream cheese, vanilla seeds and sugar with the whisk of a mixer until creamy. Beat in the eggs one at a time. Mix the flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt together and beat in along with the lemon juice and zest. Spoon into the pan and smooth out. Bake for 45-50 mins, until a skewer comes out clean. Allow to cool.
Sift the powdered sugar into a bowl and stir in enough milk to make a smooth icing. Turn the cake out of the pan and spread over the icing, allowing it to drizzle down the sides. Allow to dry.
