1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup molasses
2 eggs
4 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons ginger
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 cup raisins, chopped
1 cup nuts, chopped
1 cup hot coffee
Preparation

Cream shortning, sugar, molasses and eggs together.
In a seperate bowl, sift flour, cinnamon, ginger, salt and.
soda together.
Stir in raisins and nuts.
Alternately add flour mixture and coffee, beating well after each addition.
Drop from a teaspoon onto greased cookie sheets.
Bake in a moderate oven (350 F) until done, about 7-10 minute.
