Ingredients

1/2 cup butter (or margarine)
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup white sugar
3/4 cup golden brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups flour
2 cups dark chocolate chips
Preparation

Blend butter, shortening and sugars.
Mix in egg and vanilla.
Stir in dry ingredients, then chocolate.
Chill for at least one hour.
Use a large ice cream scoop and form balls of cookie dough.
Place on an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake at 350* for 13-15 minutes or until cookies are set and just starting to brown.
Cool.
