Date Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cup dates, chopped fine
    3/4 cup brown sugar
    1/4 cup butter
    3/4 cup boiling water
    1 egg, well beaten
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1 3/4 cups flour
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/2 cup chopped nuts
Preparation
    Mix well in a bowl the dates, brown sugar, butter and boiling water.
    Stir until butter melts.
    Stir in the egg, baking soda, flour, salt and nuts.
    Place in a buttered loaf pan (9x5) and bake at 350\u00b0 for about 1 hour, or until a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean.
