Ingredients

1 cup quick-cooking oats, uncooked
1 cup sugar
7 teaspoons all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, melted
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Preparation

Combine the first 4 ingredients; mix well.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
Drop by 1/2 teaspoon 3 inches apart onto aluminum foil-lined cookie sheets.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 6 to 8 minutes, or until edges are brown.
Cool completely before removing.
