Hot Cinnamon Wine - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 cups red wine
    2 cinnamon sticks
    fresh ginger (1 inch piece, sliced)
    fresh turmeric, root (1 inch piece, sliced a Optional)
Preparation
    In saucepan, combine wine, cinnamon, ginger and turmeric. Cover and heat gently.
    Remove from heat and allow to stand, covered, for 20 minutes.
    Strain and pour into 4 heated mugs.
