Ingredients

1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 3/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
8 ounces white chocolate, chopped
1/4 cup sliced almonds
Preparation

Cream butter and shortening.
Gradually add sugar beating at medium speed of electric mixer until light and fluffy.
Add egg and vanilla, beating well.
Combine flour, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture mixing well.
Stir in white chocolate and almonds.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 375F for 8-10 minutes.
Remove to wire racks to cool.
