Bonnach (Celtic Bread) From Canada - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 cups flour
    8 teaspoons baking powder
    2 teaspoons salt
    1/2 cup white sugar
    1/2 cup shortening
    1/2 cup currants
    1 1/2 cups milk
Preparation
    Combine flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Work in shortening as for pastry.
    Add currants.
    Moisten with milk, making a soft dough. Knead 10 seconds.
    Pat out on a greased cookie sheet, to a thickness of a 1/2 inch.
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0F and bake for 25 minutes.
    Serve warm with butter.
