Pulla - Scandinavian Sweet Bread - Bread Machine - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cup milk
    2 tablespoons butter
    1 egg
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1/4 cup sugar
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon ground cardamom
    3 cups flour
    1 tablespoon quick-rising yeast
    2 tablespoons gluten
    1 cup sourdough starter (optional)
    1 egg (beaten)
    2 tablespoons milk
Preparation
    Remove dough from the machine upon completion of the dough cycle and divide into 3 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a long rope and braid ropes together. Place braid on a lightly grease baking pan, cover and let rise for about 1.5 hours. Brush dough with egg was and bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 25 minutes or until golden.
