German Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium head cabbage
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. vinegar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 thin slice onion
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1/2 c. salad oil
    1 tsp. dry mustard
Preparation
    Mix onion and cabbage.
    Add sugar and celery seed; mix and set aside.
    Bring to a boil the vinegar, salad oil, salt and dry mustard; pour over cabbage mixture and mix well.
    May be kept in refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
    The longer it sets, the better it tastes.
