French Toast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 slices bread
    applesauce or apple butter
    1 egg
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Butter both sides of each slice of bread.
    Spread with applesauce or apple butter.
    Beat one egg well.
    Add milk.
    Put bread which has been spread with butter and apple butter together as for a sandwich.
    Cut in half.
    Dip in egg mixture.
    Brown on both sides.
    Add more butter to skillet, if needed.
    Drain on paper towels.
    Sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
