Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. cocoa
    1 c. milk
    1 level tsp. baking soda
    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream sugar and butter.
    Add eggs and beat well.
    Dissolve cocoa in 1/2 cup water; heat to a smooth paste.
    Add to other ingredients, then add milk and vanilla.
    Add soda with flour, which has been sifted 3 times; beat well.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour or more.
