Easter Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. warm water
    2 pkg. or cakes yeast
    4 3/4 to 5 c. sifted flour
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 1/2 salt
    2 eggs (unbeaten)
    4 tsp. grated lemon rind
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    5 colored eggs (not cooked)
    1 egg yolk
    rainbow nonpareils
Preparation
    Into a large mixing bowl, measure water (use cool to lukewarm for compressed yeast).
    Sprinkle or crumble yeast into bowl; stir until yeast dissolves.
    Add 1 1/2 cups flour all at once.
    Stir until smooth.
    Cover bowl and let stand in warm place for 1 1/2 hours.
