Cherry Picnic - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 box cake mix (yellow or white)
1 can cherry pie filling in heavy syrup
1 stick butter
1 c. chopped pecans, almonds or walnuts
1 c. coconut flakes
1 c. sliced pineapple
Preparation

Drain juice from pineapple.
Place pineapple in bottom of casserole pan.
Layer cherry pie filling on top of pineapple.
Top with dry cake mix.
Add coconut over cake mix.
Add chopped nuts. Pour melted butter over top.
Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven until syrup from pie filling bubbles to the top.
Best when served hot with vanilla ice cream.
