Ingredients

2 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. shredded coconut
1 c. sugar
2 eggs (unbeaten)
1 c. chopped nuts
1 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Sift flour once; measure.
Add baking powder and salt and sift again.
Cream shortening and sugar gradually and cream together thoroughly.
Add eggs, coconut, milk, vanilla and nuts.
Add flour gradually, mixing well after each addition.
Divide dough into 2 parts.
Shape each part in 1 1/2-inch diameter and roll in wax paper.
Chill overnight or until firm enough to slice in 1/8-inch slices.
Bake at 425\u00b0.
