Ingredients

1 c. butter or margarine
1 c. water
1/3 c. cocoa
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Chocolate Buttermilk Frosting
Preparation

Combine butter, water and cocoa in heavy saucepan.
Cook and stir until mixture comes to a boil.
Remove from heat and set aside.
Combine flour, sugar, soda and salt.
Add buttermilk, eggs and vanilla and beat until smooth.
Stir hot cocoa mixture into batter.
Beat by hand until well mixed.
Pour into a jelly roll pan which has been greased and floured on bottom only.
Bake in 400\u00b0 oven for 20 minutes.
While cake is warm, pour Chocolate Buttermilk Frosting on top and spread evenly.
