Fried Apple Pies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sliced dried apples
    1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    3/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 c. shortening
    vegetable oil
    2 c. water
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 to 1/2 c. milk
    sifted powdered sugar
Preparation
    Combine apples and water in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes or until apples are soft and liquid evaporates.
    Mash mixture with a fork.
    Stir in butter, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg; set apple mixture aside.
