Chocolate Covered Cherry Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
    1/2 c. margarine, softened (not fat-free kind)
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    24 maraschino cherries
Preparation
    In large mixing bowl, stir together flour, cocoa, baking powder, soda and salt; set aside.
    In large mixing bowl, beat margarine until fluffy.
    Add sugar, beating well.
    Add egg and vanilla and beat well.
    Gradually add flour mixture; beat on low until well blended.
