Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sourdough starter
3/4 c. milk
3 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. margarine
1/4 c. warm water
1 pkg. dry yeast
5 to 6 c. unsifted flour
Preparation

Scald milk. Stir in sugar, salt and margarine. Cool to lukewarm. Measure warm water in large bowl. Sprinkle in yeast, then stir until dissolved. Add lukewarm milk mixture, starter and 2 1/2 cups flour; beat until smooth. Stir in additional flour to make stiff dough. Turn onto lightly floured board and knead until smooth and elastic (about 8 to 10 minutes). Place in greased bowl; turn once to grease top. Cover. Let rise in warm place until doubled. Punch down. Divide in 3 parts. Form each part into smooth round ball or roll out and cut. Place on greased baking sheet. Bake at 400\u00b0 for 25 minutes. Cool.
