Roland'S Favorite Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 1/2 lb. stew beef
    1 1/2 c. chopped onion
    4 medium potatoes, pared and cubed
    1/2 c. dry red wine or water
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    2 (10 1/2 oz.) cans condensed tomato soup
    1/2 tsp. crushed dried basil
    4 carrots, cut into 1-inch pieces
Preparation
    Combine flour, salt and dash of pepper.
    Coat meat cubes in seasoned flour.
    Brown in hot shortening in Dutch oven.
    Add soup, 2 1/2 cups water, onion and basil.
    Cover and bake in 375\u00b0 oven about 1 hour.
    Add potatoes, carrots and wine.
    Cover and bake another hour or until tender.
